A bit about us

Rooted in nature, built for humans

Big Skies isn’t just a glamping site. It’s our family project, shaped by the belief that people and nature thrive best when they thrive together.

I’m Vicki — an ecologist by background, and the creator of Big Skies. For years I worked in local authority planning departments across Hampshire and Gloucestershire, making sure big housing projects gave space for nature to breathe and for communities to connect with green places.

When my husband Kenny and I returned to our family farm in the Cotswolds, we knew we wanted to share this space in a way that honoured both nature and people. That vision grew into Big Skies Glamping, and later, the Nook.

Our family

  • Kenny is ex-Army, and he brings energy, resilience, and creativity into everything we do here. He loves finding new ways to use the land and create experiences that feel fresh, adventurous, and memorable for our guests.

  • Ally (13) is full of curiosity and brings a young perspective to life on the farm. You’ll often find him helping out with practical jobs or heading off on little wild adventures of his own.

  • Aila (10) has a natural flair for the magical touches — whether it’s arranging flowers, hanging fairy lights, or making sure spaces feel welcoming and full of heart.

Together, we care for this land as both home and haven — a place for wildlife to flourish and for guests to return to what matters.

Big Skies Glamping

Big Skies was our first creation: a gently wild glamping site with safari tents, bell tents, and off-grid camping pitches. It’s for families, couples, and groups who want to leave the curated world behind and spend time under open horizons.

It’s not about picture-perfect holidays. It’s about little luxuries that keep you comfortable, wide skies that give perspective, and space where real memories are made.

Why the Nook?

The Nook came from listening — to our guests and to ourselves. Families adore Big Skies, but couples were craving something more private, more intimate, and even slower.

So we built the Nook: a tucked-away, off-grid cabin for two. It carries the same values — ecological care, gentle impact, and honest comfort — but with space designed just for couples to rest, reconnect, and breathe.

Our promise

Every part of Big Skies and the Nook is created with one simple principle: when people and nature care for each other, real restoration happens.

We don’t do manicured lawns, over-curated experiences, or green-washing.
We do thriving wildflowers, wide skies, quiet evenings, and simple comforts that remind you what matters.

This farm has been our family’s home for 4 generations, and it’s a privilege to share it with you.
