By making a booking at the Nook at Big Skies you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

  1. The Greener Camping Club

In order to comply with countryside planning policy, we operate as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite. The Club was established by people with a passion for sustainable, eco-friendly camping holidays. When you book your holiday with us, you will be enrolled as a member of the Club. Membership costs just £12 for the calendar year and gives you access to some of the greenest campsites in the UK. It also includes participation in the Club’s ‘Trees for Life’ scheme, whereby a tree is planted for every member we enrol.

  1. Booking and Payment

Deposits paid to confirm bookings are refundable up until 30 days before your scheduled stay. The exact amount of your non-refundable deposit will be displayed before you book. Less than 30 days prior to your stay your booking is no longer refundable.  You must be 18 or over to make a booking. Please check your dates, party details and all other details - your booking is your responsibility! Once you have booked, a confirmation email will be sent to you which is proof that we have accepted your booking. It is recommended to take out adequate holiday insurance to cover cancellations.

3. Cancellation

If you cancel more than 30 days prior to your booking a refund of the balance, less the booking fee, will be made. However, if a cancellation is made within 30 days of your booking a refund cannot be made. We strongly advise all guests to take out full holiday insurance to cover cancellations, public liability, personal belongings, loss etc.

Weather: This glamping accommodation is located in Britain and as such sometimes the weather is unfavourable at any time of year. Please note, we do not provide a refund or a transfer of date of your holiday because the weather has not worked out, or is not to your liking. If the weather is forecast to be Extreme and we are forced to close the campsite, either a change of date or refund for your holiday will be offered.

Finally, if, heaven forbid, we are forced to cancel your booking for any reason, then the limit of our liability will be the amount you have paid for the holiday. If this does happen, it will be a last resort and we will have tried everything possible to avoid this happening.

4. Arrival and Departure Times

Check in is between 4pm and 7pm if you are unable to make these times please contact us and we will try to accommodate you. The Nook is self-check in and you will be sent details of how to check in once booking is confirmed.

Please vacate your accommodation by 10am on the day of departure. We ask that you leave your accommodation on time to allow us enough time to clean and prepare facilities for the next guests.

5. Responsible Tenanting

By booking with the Nook at Big Skies you are agreeing to leave all furniture and furnishings in the same state as you found them, and to leave the site clean and tidy, with the washing up completed when you depart. Should any facilities, equipment or inventory, be damaged wilfully, as a result of inappropriate usage or behaviour, you will be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement. A £100 security deposit will be taken prior to your stay. If after your stay it is decided that the deposit cannot be refunded, you will be emailed to discuss the situation.

6. Termination of Stay

You are expected to maintain reasonable and appropriate standards of behaviour at all times whilst at The Nook at Big Skies. The proprietors have the right, at their sole discretion, to terminate your stay if you or members of your group are reasonably believed to be causing a nuisance to the other guests or are not treating the property with due respect. The Nook may require all or any such persons to leave the accommodation, without refund and in such an event, The Nook will not be liable for making any payment to you and in order to compensate The Nook for the nuisance caused will retain all monies paid by you.

7. Refusal of Entry

The Nook reserves the right to refuse entry to any or all guests within the party if these Terms & Conditions are not observed. Any function, celebration, party, corporate event or ceremony must have the written permission of The Nook. Any occupancy is for the purpose of a temporary holiday rental only and does not create the relationship of landlord and tenant between you and The Nook.

8. Number of Persons using the Nook

There must be no more members in your group than the property is designed to accommodate which is two people in The Nook.

9. No Smoking Policy

Smoking is not allowed inside The Nook and the proprietor reserves the right to charge for costs of cleaning and redecoration if this provision is breached. Smoking is however allowed in the outside areas but all rubbish must be disposed of in the bins provided.

10. Hot Tub and Associated Facilities

You should take all reasonable care and obey the hot tub rules displayed in the welcome pack. You are responsible for your own safety whilst using the hot tub as it is unsupervised. No lifeguard is in attendance. Children under the age of 16 years and those people of any age who cannot swim must be supervised. Only paying guests of The Nook are allowed to use the hot tubs unless prior permission is given by The Nook.

11. Fires

The Nook is rented out as self-catering unit with a fire pit to keep you warm at night and to cook over. Fires are only permitted in the fire pit. Only wood is to be burned in the fire pits, heat resistant gloves are provide for cooking. You must not light fires after excessive amounts of alcohol. If you have any questions about this please discuss with us.  No candles at any time should be lit inside the glamping accommodation. Please do not tamper with any gas bottles on site, if you think they may not be working please contact us to help. There is a fire extinguisher, sand bucket and fire blanket at the Nook.

 

12. Children
The Nook is not suitable for children, all guests must be 18 years old and over to stay at The Nook.

13. The Surrounding Area

The Nook is surrounded by a working arable farm, as such, there are crops planted in surrounding fields which we ask you to respect. There are also horses nearby, we ask you not to feed them or cause them any distress. Please obey any no entry signs on and near the site, these are here for your safety. You are responsible for your own and your party’s personal safety when on site and in the surrounding area.

14. Noise
Noise at night must be kept to a minimum. Sound travels far in the country and we ask you to respect our neighbour's peace and quiet. A small radio is permitted and acoustic instruments are encouraged, but please leave the large sound systems at home. If you cause a disturbance and continue to do so after being asked by us to stop, we reserve the right to ask you to leave. Sound must be kept to minimum after 10pm, chatting is fine though.

15. Dogs

Dogs are only accepted by prior arrangement. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times around the site. Please note that there is livestock on-site and in nearby fields and farmers do not take kindly to dogs chasing their livestock. There will be a small charge of £25 for one dog to cover any extra cleaning required on departure. This charge is added on at the initial booking stage. We can only allow one dog in our glamping accommodation.

16. Personal Belongings
Big Skies takes no responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal belongings brought onto site. Please leave valuables at home. Parking is at the owners own risk and please ensure bikes are locked.

17. Prices
The price payable is the price set out in the Booking Confirmation. Our prices are, to all intents and purposes, inclusive so they include:
a) Your accommodation.
b) Reasonable amounts of firewood for fires for one evening,
based on a fair use policy. If more is required, please replenish from the wood store at a small charge.
c) Bed linen.

18. Not Included:
a) Cleaning. We do expect you to leave your accommodation in a good state when you leave. It will still be cleaned by us when you go but we will levy a cleaning charge if you
leave it excessively dirty.
– Damage. If you break things we do expect you to pay for them. So please tell us if
anything goes wrong. If we think it is our fault we’ll pay – if it’s yours we’ll expect you to fork out!

19. Assumption of Risks
Remember that you will be lighting fires and staying in the countryside with many potential risks (and delights, it has to be said) so you must take care of yourself and your companions.

It is your responsibility to supervise any children. You might consider taking out travel insurance against the risk of accidents and your stay being cut short especially if you are not a UK resident.

20. Out of our Control
There may occasionally be things that, through no fault of our own, we can’t provide what we said we would. We will therefore not guarantee that everything on the website will always be here. In the most extreme cases – clearly for some bizarre reason – we may have a reason to cancel your booking or a part of it, for example, if damage to your accommodation was caused by a freak storm. In such cases not only will we have tried to find every solution imaginable but we will be deeply sorry too. However, our liability will be limited to a pro rata refund for any days we were unable to provide and will not allow for any consequential losses on your side.

21. Force Majeure
Big Skies are not liable for refunds or expenses you incur in the event we are prevented from fulfilling your Booking as a result of circumstances beyond our control. Such circumstances shall include (but not be limited to) war, terrorism, riots or civil unrest, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics, health risks or such similar events (“Force Majeure”). We recommend that you have adequate holiday insurance in place to cover this.

22. Liability
Nothing in this agreement shall limit or exclude our liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law. In addition to the above, we shall not be responsible for any: (i) loss of income or revenue; (ii) loss of business; or (iii) indirect or consequential loss or damage, in each case, however caused, even if foreseeable. Our maximum liability shall be no more than to refund the amount paid by you for the holiday.

23. Complaints
We want you to have an enjoyable stay but should you have any causes for complaint, please speak to us as soon as possible and we will try our best to resolve your complaint. If, at the end of your stay with us, you feel we have not dealt with your complaint satisfactorily, please contact us by email (info@bigskiesglamping.co.uk) as soon as possible.

24. Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be construed in accordance with English law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

25. Lastly
It is our final condition at Big Skies that you have a lovely stay with us and that you enjoy our beautiful site.
